Check the LIM report, the property file and the Certificate of Title of this property - there should be some info about what the site were used before.
OR, you may like to contact Auckland Regional Council - who may have some background info too.
If the site was used as a rubbish tip in the past, it is likely that the property and the surrounding area would have been classfied as "contaminated site" by North Shore City Council (NSCC), which should be indicated on the LIM report. OR, there should be a contamination remediation report mentioned on the Certificate of Title of this property when the area were subdivided.
If you cannot find anything but still concerned, then the last step you could do is probably to visit the Archives Department of the NSCC (which is near the Takapuna Beach) to find out the old records in the area - although I dont know if it is open to public or not but talk to a staff in NSCC first. |
