We're Kelly Rd Cambridge Lodge - an impeccably clean boutique, contemporary 22-room motel accommodation in Cambridge.
Our vision and purpose is to bring joy and comfort to travellers from across Aotearoa and the globe, with excellent end-to-end service. It brings us great joy to be one of the finest and well-reviewed motel properties in our beautiful town.
We've been family-owned since the start, and we'd like to offer this opportunity for leadership to a keen manager who would be able to live on-site and continue the vision.
We're looking for someone who is organised, motivated, has a keen eye for detail, has strong critical thinking skills, and an unwavering commitment to understanding and serving our guests.
What we're looking for:
At least 1 year of hospitality management, reception roles, or 2 years in housekeeping (preferably both)
Ability to organise and lead a team of housekeepers
Being motivated, organised, having a keen eye for detail, strong critical thinking, and great customer skills are essential to doing the job well.
Good sense of personal hygiene and grooming.
Mandarin fluency strongly preferred
Remuneration & Benefits:
Within the provided salary range, depending on experience. Should you have experience and do an excellent job, expect to be rewarded in part.
Cash bonuses for improving on guest reviews & sales performance.
Manager's suite consisting of a shared spacious downstairs lounge, modern kitchen, and private upstairs bedroom with an ensuite. The only sharing you do will be with us. Utilities included.
4 full weeks (incl. business and non-business days) of leave a year.
Expected Duties:
Front of house & phone calls
Tech support & guest relations
Employee rostering and management, and possibly hiring.
Ordering required supplies
Some towel pre-cleaning and laundry loading/unloading/folding, as we do our towels in-house.
Tidying up around the property - reception, watering the lawn, etc. Mowing is taken care of by contractors.
Simple maintenance - screwing in loose bits and bobs, changing lights and batteries, e.t.c.
Trial Process:
We are aware that relocating for any live-in manager is a significant process, and can be costly for both sides. After assessing your CV and interviewing you, we commence a non-commitment training and trial for approximately a week. We would be happy for you to live onsite for free.
Should you be successful in securing the role, we will pay you the equivalent compensation of your full salary for this training period; otherwise, we will still offer a reduced training compensation for your time.
