学生签证或配偶身份能做sole trader吗？

请教各位一下，

我拿的是学生签证，因为读博士班，所以没有任何工作类型、时数限制，而太太则是依我的签证拿到工作签证，同样没有任何工作类型和时数的限制。所以我们两个都可以注册公司，或是以sole trader、contractor、self-employed的方式工作吗？

There are some types of employment that international students are not permitted to do.

International students aren’t allowed to be self-employed. They must work as a worker (or employee) with an employment agreement, and not as an independent contractor.

International students also can’t provide commercial sexual services. In other words, they can’t work as a prostitute, act as an operator of a New Zealand prostitution business or invest in a prostitution business.
