it's hard to answer your questions. All companies run interviews differently. Most of the companies in NZ do only 1 interview (assuming you are shortlisted based on your CV), where both the hiring manager and team lead are there to assess your suitability. Usually the hiring manager will focus on your soft skill (whether you will fit the team, assess your attitude etc) and the team lead focus on your technical understanding / background.
