culture fit isn't all to do with the fluency of your english. It's normal for a company wanting to find someone that does fit the team. For example, if you are a 25 years old lady, the role you are applying for happen to be a team of 8x 40-50 years old guys, it's common for the hiring manager to have concern that you might not fit the team culture or will break the existing team harmony. It's one of those thing that are hard to explain or justify, a lot of it is purely subject to your hiring manaer's personal impression of you and their own judgement of whether you will fit or not.
Of course, there are also shit manager that do use reason like this as an excuse to not hire someone. Another way of looking at this is, it's probably a good thing to not work for a manager that's shallow and can't accept other culture/skin color etc too?
good luck, sounds like you already have some commercial experience in the past, it should be easier for you to get back into workforce compare to fresh graduates. |
