“Marae based cultural programme”

When :       Wednesday 29th  June 2011
Time :        8.30am -1.00pm

Where:      Waiwhetu Marae, 4 Puketapu Grove
Lower Hutt



This interactive workshop is aimed at people new to New Zealand and offers them a chance to learn about the local history, the Treaty of Waitangi, Maori language and culture.



Programme:

• Powhiri (Official Maori welcome onto the Marae)
• Local history and environment
• Maori language and culture
• Treaty of Waitangi

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
