Assistant Site Manager (Auckland) VIKON Construction and Design is a multi-disciplinary provider in the New Zealand construction industry. Vikon Construction is currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join its team. In this new role, the Site Manager will need to manage multiple projects at various stages across Auckland. You will also need to regularly coordinate and liaise with the clients to ensure that the site works are being carried out to a high level of quality, to budget as well as to set time frames.
The candidate will need to be motivated, highly organized, and have an eye for details. Furthermore, you will need to have excellent communication skills to work with your team, subcontractors, and clients.

Key responsibilities and duties:
· Construction work quality control · Ensuring construction progress is delivered within the set time frame · Maintaining the highest standards of safety and solving potential safety hazards · Managing priorities and liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure the construction proceeds smoothly · Completing related site administrative work and reporting issues and problems to enable the improvement scheme
Your skills and abilities:
· Relevant Site Management experiences (over 1 year) in NewZealand · Having a New Zealand working permit(citizen/PR/Working Visa) · Holding a valid and clean full New Zealand driving licence, can drive the truck (automatic transmission) · Good documentation and communication skills · Conscientious, and excellent problem-solving ability, able to work as a team · Knowing site health and safety plan (Work Safe Certificate is preferable) · Friendly, pleasant, diligent, and hard-working characters

Quantity Surveyor (Junior/Intermediate)-Rosedale
VIKON Construction is currently seeking an Intermediate QS to join its team. This will suit junior QS looking to step up, or experienced (2 year+) QS in a residential and light commercial building firm.
Duties & Responsibilities · Source and qualify subcontractors, issue accurate scope of works and procurement · Collaborate with project managers to deliver project plans. Monitor and report on the cost budget · Assist project principals, architectural and interior designers in specifying building materials · Generate project cost estimates from design documents. Produce and submit tender documents · Other administrative tasks associated with construction projects · Cost reporting upon completion of construction projects · Conflict resolution between project stakeholders
You should have:
· Relevant 1+ year of full-time QS experience in New Zealand · Awareness and ability to enforce health and safety standards · Good verbal and written skills with all suppliers, clients or consultants · Excellent understanding of drawings and specification documents · Excellent understanding of building contracts, Construction Contracts Act · A valid New Zealand working permit(Citizen/PR/Work Visa) · Strong work ethic, support company management and marketing strategies · Holding a valid and clean full New Zealand driving license
