call them, but be aware, it is automated voice service at first, you need to speak up on the phone to provide your details...IRD number....Birthday....what service do you want?

step1: call 0800 227 774

step 2: read out your IRD number

step 3: you will be asked with options of service, all  you need to say is " tax refund"

step 4: you wil be connected with a human phone operator, she/he will ask you list of questions, dont bother what they are, all you need to answer is "NO"....NO to the last questions.

step 5: she/he will ask you do you wanna to caculate the tax refund yourself or let them do it for you? you choose letting them do it for you on the phone ( the good thing about caculating the tax yourself is you will not get penalised for the short-paid tax, but the process is too complicated to do it urself; if they do it for you, it is quick and easy, but you will be penalised if they find you with tax dodging)

step 6: you will be put on hold for few mins, then, operator tells you that the amout of tax refund you will get from the last finaical year, and the money will be put into your bank account, cconfirm the bank account details with them. Done!!

the money will appear on your bank acccount wthin 5 working days!
