Some of you are waiting for easy money series 2…….This is more difficult and require time BUT someone else will be doing all the work for you, and the only thing you have to do is pay the bill on time... GIRLS CAN DO THIS TOO!!!

the initial stage is difficult (wont be difficult if you are in the field as long as I have or more than me, or you have a good business brain)
Here it is.

Set up a company for property services or similar nature, hire a few tradesman (especially a builder with Master building qualification), only 1 or 2 of them need to be a kiwi, the rest can be Chinese cos its cheaper. get the KIWI to talk to the external client, (so no one will call you dodgy Chinese builder….). Lease a building for the office, buy some computer, hire a receptionist
Give your staff uniform and business card.
Prepare your health and safety document and meet the national requirement.
Present your company to local city council, show them your ability, and you can do it safely, within budget (Kiwi contractors put a very high margin for their work, as long as you are not greedy, you will be sweet) and within time (that’s why you hire those people with qualification to assess these for you)
From there onward… the money just flow in… and if you become the "preferred service provider", you wont have to work for another day of your life.
Government will always have something require upgrade on their building/premises, the money is always there as long as NZ government don’t collapse..….. (my department has 14 million to spend a year for 07/08 year for MAINTENANCE ONLY, the actual construction is not included in this amount. My job is to select the contractor I want to use.)
Some of you might say too much money involved, or too much work, but don’t overlook the fact the topic is easy money. If you invest 500k in a company like this, a big government job will pay off your invesment in 1 month. (eg.. The infamous Spring Hill prison, google it if you don’t know. )
A friend of mine, Kenny, a Malaysian guy came to Nz back in the 90s, he set up a plastering business with $50. after a few years he became the sub contractor for Mainzeal Construction doing all the plastering work for Mainzeal, he uses Chinese labourer and he doesn’t put a high margin… You don’t want to know how much he was earning….

by the way, if anyone cant be stuffed about doing all this (and its legal!)... then you should just go back to your desk and work on your 40k job....

you will know if you are in the government like me... we split the big job to smaller pieces so we dont have to go through the "panel"... its not for our benefit but its just faster this way.

well. its easy money in my eyes... cos most of the time the contractor that we used are just project management companies, they know who to use and where to find the cheap labour...

同意，我也想过我们门公司做生意的手法，看似很简单，但是最重要的是怎么才能够有稳定的订单，做过market/sale的都知道，其中的艰辛外人很难明白的。

呵呵～～～都是说起来容易做起来难啊。。
不懂一行的规矩就很难入门，主要就是entry barrier，还有管理上的问题。
能不能做的差别就在于你懂不懂这行！要是这么简单的话，楼主为什么不做？

very good idea. One of my cousins is working in a company that supply equipments for construction site. I think your perception based on your experience is very inspiring.

yeah there is money to be made - if you know the trick. or if you have the endurance...

like the old Chinese saying: where heart and mind set - the stone will open a path for you

I believe every sector has its easy money.. just need to find it, its fortunate that easy money is everywhere in construction field, but if you cant get your ass moving or cant be stuffed to do anything (cos you have amalgamated into the bad kiwi culture - laid back, laziness), then you cant complain....

说的虽然容易, 但是有一项因素必须考虑到, 就是Risk factors. 看了LZ的easy money series. 你说的都是看起来似乎容易赚的快钱. 不过, where are the risk assurance factors underpining your operation should any thing gone wrong in terms of techanicality?

譬如, 如果你没有engineering / construction background, 虽然你下面的人可以去接工程, 一旦出了事故和错误, 做为director, 你在法律上的责任是不能用简单的limited liability 来避免的.

世界上没有快钱可以赚的, 风险和回报永远是成正比的. 简单赚钱的事情一定会吸引市场的supply增大, 接着需求相对减少, 最后也就饱和然后不存在了. 越难做的事情才越有价值.

很不想要这么说，但是世界上就是有easy money这个东西。。。

我的一个德国同事， 1980年的时候去中东作工程，结果在叙利亚被绑架了60多天，这60多天他公司照样发薪水还给慰问金，等于是平常2倍的薪水，大家都以为他当时过的很惨，结果他说根本不是那么回事，叙利亚这些人对他挺好的，只是要在媒体面前表现的很强悍。这是题外话不说。

我毕业的时候伊拉克战争刚刚开打，阿富汗正在重建，我当时也曾经考虑过去阿富汗，铺马路做工程，一个月2万美金，我cv都送给对方在澳洲的办公室，对方也打电话给我进行interview, 最后还是听我娘的没去。

我毕业之前也考虑过去缵油台上作工程师，一去就是4个月，每一次上去就是10万美金。但是这里毕业的没有学到相关的经验，必须德国/美国/英国/法国这些工业先进的国家才有教导类似的。否则很难进。

一旦出了事故，作为director当然要负责，不过是责任的一部分，而且作工作当然有risk, 任何工作都有risk, 甚至洗澡都有risk...不过话不是这么说，作工作，承包工程当然就是要不出事故，这就是为什么要求health and safety assessment等等要求，如果出了事故，你可以雇律师阿，这个世界上的真理很少，只有律师在法庭上圆谎技巧的高低

平凡就好，何必呢么极端呢，人生就那么几十年，错过了就很难回头了。只要身边人快乐我就满足了。

也许每个人性格都不同把，我比较保守，只要身边人快乐我就满足了。呵呵，工作干了4年多还不敢换，这几年房地产业这个金山也不敢多捞（2006前就退了，有些可惜），虽然有时候觉得错过很多机会，不过看别人那么辛苦的，也知足了。

搂住有理想，敢拼，将会大起大落的，我想新西兰真的很不适合你，以前看过一个报道说德国的高级工程师在只能接些盖盖运动馆，改装楼顶的小工程，大点的工程动不动就等几年的，又慢又无聊，后还去了中国才知道什么叫工程师。听说上海旁边建个100万人口的新城市，从无到有只花3年而已，真的很难想象那个速度，听说Dubai也发展很快，西方人口比例也多。

所有business都是这样开始的。这根本不是easy money

大家都知道business都是这样开始，没有付出哪里来的收获？这是显而易见的道理。大家都知道这点不多说

你如果要问没有付出直接有收获，世界上是没有这个东西的。就算去贩毒运毒，也不是easy money.因为要冒险被抓，而且不合法。这个大家也都知道不多说。

帖子已经说得清楚，如果你能成为preferred service provider，等于是拿到政府建筑的长久维修合同，要成为preferred service provider也没有那么难。只是外人不知道这个东西要怎么弄。

其实我干吗解释这么多，easy money就是easy money，我自己未来要做这个，现在在市政府内做好关系跟人脉。你们不认为是easy money那最好，我少了竞争对手。
