The world's best rally drivers and teams have returned to Mystery Creek Events Centre this week, with preparations well underway for the New Zealand round of the World Rally Championship this weekend, 30 August to 2 September 2007.
Shakedown begins on Thursday, with a full weekend of racing and entertainment on offer.
This year, three Super Special Stages will be held on the 3.14km Mystery Creek stage which includes a water splash and jump that will thrill spectators who are well catered for with grandstands situated at top viewing locations areound the site. Teams will frantically service and rebuild cars between on and offsite stages with a fully undercover service park and grandstand seating providing amazing viewing opportunities.
Mystery Creek Super Special Stages will run from:
5.00pm on Friday 31 August
12.30pm on Saturday 1 September
2.00pm on Sunday 2 September
The Rally New Zealand Finishing Ceremony will also be held at Mystery Creek Events Centre, at 3pm on Sunday.
Possum Bourne Memorial Rally
A special addition to the 2007 event is the Possum Bourne Memorial Rally. This rally runs on Saturday, starting in Pukekohe and following the Rally New Zealand competitors through the community stages to Mystery Creek Events Centre for a Service Park and Special Stage. The Finish Ceremony for the Possum Bourne Memorial Rally will be held at Mystery Creek at the end of the day's racing.
A good range of exhibitors return to Rally this year, situated in the Pavilion adjacent to the action-packed Service Park. The action will continue throughout the day with entertainment from Latin Fever and Freelunch. Don't miss the Rally Chicks and friends modelling Rally New Zealand merchandise throughout the weekend.
