Tasks and Responsibilities
The key duties for this position include:
• Forklift Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a counterbalance forklift to move,
load, unload, and stack hard landscape products within the warehouse and yard.
• Truck Driving & Deliveries: Operate a Class 2 rigid truck, including towing a
trailer, to complete customer deliveries in a timely and professional manner. This
includes safely securing loads, handling goods with care, and manoeuvring/reversing
the truck and trailer combination at customer sites.
• Order Fulfilment: Accurately pick, check, and assemble customer orders from
picking slips, ensuring correct products and quantities are prepared for dispatch.
• Loading and Unloading: Load goods onto the delivery truck and unload products at
customer sites. Load and unload supplier trucks and customer vehicles, ensuring
accuracy and secure placement of goods.
• Devanning: Safely and efficiently unload products from shipping containers using
forklifts and appropriate manual handling techniques.
• Inventory Management: Assist with regular inventory counts, stocktaking, and
ensuring all products are stored in designated locations. Report any stock
discrepancies to the warehouse manager.
• General Warehouse Duties: Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment in
the warehouse, yard, and truck. Perform general warehouse duties as required.
• Team Collaboration: Liaise with the warehouse and administration teams to
coordinate dispatch schedules, manage order flow, and meet daily operational targets.
• Health & Safety: Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures at
all times.
Mandatory Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications:
1. NZ Class 2 Licence: A current and valid New Zealand Full Class 2 Driver Licence is
essential.
2. Forklift Certificate: A current and valid New Zealand Forklift Operator's Certificate
(OSH equivalent) is essential.
Experience:
1. Forklift Experience: A minimum of 3 years' proven experience operating a
counterbalance forklift in a busy warehouse or yard environment.
2. Warehouse Experience: A minimum of 2 years' proven experience in a warehouse
or yard role, including stock handling, order picking, and dispatch.
3. Class 2 Driving Experience: A minimum of 2 years' proven experience driving a
Class 2 truck. Experience safely manoeuvring and reversing with a trailer is essential.
Skills & Attributes:
1. Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of repetitive manual handling,
including safely lifting items up to 25kg.
2. English Language: Must have sufficient English language skills to understand health
and safety instructions, read picking slips, and communicate effectively with the team
and customers.
3. Reliability: Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
4. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve routine warehouse
issues.
