About Us:
Cāntīng is a smart casual, upmarket modern Chinese, Asian restaurant and bar. Presented by Nic Watt (the chef restauranteur of MASU in Sky City and INCA Restaurants), Cāntīng w Ill seamlessly blend the richness of an Asian dining experience, with a harmonious fusion of traditi On and innovation which immerses you in a culinary journey.
Our restaurant offers a spacious open-plan dining area with seating for 122 guests. It features an elevated semi-private dining space, a chef's counter for an immersive dining experience Ce, and classic lazy-susan tables, all while providing stunning views of the Waitematā Harbour.
We will be opening 7 days and night across the week servicing lunch, dinner and yum cha weekends.
And we are looking for a talented and experienced staff to fulfill the front of house team from senior management to junior staff.
Role overview:
As a front of house person, you'll welcome guests, ensuring that each guest enjoys an exceptional dining Experience. Ideal candidates will bring a customer-first mindset, professionalism, strong communication and a pa Ssion for hospitality. Experience in upscale dining is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet customers and assess their needs.
• Present menus and offer tailored recommendations.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Deliver timely and attentive service to guests.
• Identify and accommodate special requests or customer preferences.
• Handle complaints efficiently, following company procedures.
• Assist in boosting team morale and productivity.
• Stay self-motivated and proactive in your duties.
• Attend in-house or off-site trainings when required.
• Learn the food and beverage menu. Build confidence when selling the product.
• Present bills and take payments accordingly.

Requirements:
• Proven previous experience as a FOH, Host, Bar. Experience in Chinese or Asian cuisine is a bonus!
• Experience in working in a high-turning restaurant environment.
• Eligible visa and currently residing in New Zealand.
• To be able to work autonomously.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
• MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK FLUENT ENGLISH
