You need to have been physically present in New Zealand, as a resident, for a certain amount of time during the last 5 years. The 5 years are counted backwards from the day you apply for citizenship.

To meet this requirement, you need to have been in New Zealand for:

at least 240 days in each 12-month period, and
1,350 days across the 5 years.
You might not meet this requirement if you have been out of New Zealand for longer than 4 months in any 12-month period. This could be 1 long trip or many smaller trips.

The oldest applications now being assessed were submitted in March 2022.

Citizenship by grant application timeframes

This is how long it is currently taking to process citizenship applications, based on reporting data from March 2023.

If your application is processed within these timeframes, the Department of Internal Affairs cannot provide any further information on the status of your application.

Application allocated to a staff member

99% of applications were allocated to a staff member within 10 months.

Outcome of application

86% of applications took less than 3 months to get an outcome after being assigned to a staff member.

Total application process

77% of applicants were granted citizenship within 16 months.

回国就医直接去看专家，各种扫描当天出结果。这个是优势

在新西兰买个医保不就好了，年初看了次专家当天预约后两天就可以去了，要真是到急诊的地步你飞回国也来不及呐。。。
