谢谢HELL - WOMAN，最初的发起者，然后是牧羊猪和1977 pacmann，是在群里发言和提出很好的意见的人

我希望更多的人能参与到群里参加讨论，毕竟这是和每个在砍大读书的人都有关的问题

希望大家能提出宝贵意见

不求斑竹给顶至，给个高亮我就满足了

我觉得议程是初步这样：
1定下签名信的大致内容，游行的纲领，目的，
2定下来具体分工，如何联系其他学生会和争取到大学学生会支持
3游行的时间，
4准备工作的巨细
5，还有至少要留下联络方式,最好是CELL - PHONE
6，有带补充

先把我自己手机号留下来吧：0210762730 ，最好发短信，手机有点问题，打电话老有问题。。。。

你说的没错，刚刚在讨论的时候就谈到这个时间问题，我们觉得确实时间紧张，但是我想每个人都有不少时间是浪费掉的，如果能拿这些时间干些有意义的活动，应该是很好的
所以，我们明天就组织讨论，然后争取尽快抗议。。哎，没办法啊，我也是前几天才看到HELLWOMAN的贴的。。。。

而且最关键的是,中国人都不爱凑热闹,文里说叫明哲自保,往白里说就是事不关己高高挂起.你拉个横幅往图书馆门口一站都不见得能有多少人过来招呼你.所以能联系到其他国际学生部门才有希望.

OURLINER说的对，群里昨天说的也这样。。最好能和别的相关组织联系一下。。比如，台湾学生会，香港学生会等。。

好象中国学生读商的多,
otago是9240美元,砍大10500,砍大凭什么比otago多要这1000多美元每科?多了快10%
otago每年得到的政府拨款不比砍大少吧?otago收9240,砍大收10500,,,也许chch的地价贵,成本高,可以摊在留学生上...

林肯的好像就比较好！！我觉得多联系一下那些日本的，韩国的，其他一些国际学生比较好

2007 International fees

To all current Canterbury international students

This is a message from the International Office to advise you of tuition fees for 2007. The annual adjustment for 2007 is 5% for all disciplines, both undergraduate and postgraduate. There have also been some adjustments in the Sciences, where tuition fees for non-bench sciences are now less than those for subjects where full laboratory facilities are required. The 2007 increase matches the percentage increase in 2006 in the fees that New Zealand students pay. While domestic fees for the following year are set each November, international fees are set one year out so that they can be included in marketing publications and the web site for the benefit of students planning to enter the University in 2007.

One other smaller change is that from 2007 membership of the Recreation Centre will no longer be a cost-free benefit for international students. Some students choose to take up this membership, some do not, and in the light of that it has been decided that membership will become an individual user-pays option.

The very good news is that since the international fees were set in November last year the exchange rate for the New Zealand dollar has fallen against most currencies. We are delighted about this as we have been keenly aware over recent years of the impact of an appreciating dollar upon the budgets of students who were already committed to a course of study in New Zealand, but whose fees were rising steeply year by year on the back of a high NZ dollar. As you are aware the dollar is currently running at 12.5% down against the $US as compared with this time last year. Although exchange rates are not a factor in the fee-setting process it is good to see that this time exchange rates are working for the benefit of our international students instead of against it.

Protest

Next year, the University of Canterbur ...

I feel this protest is not strong enough...
by the way, personelly, I think we should forcus on study first,
and we have whole summer holiday to plan and organize about it,gether more people to join us, ask for legel help etc.
You can't rush to do this, becuase 2007's tution fees are already increased.
They won't change the fees because you do the protest now.

But, I am supporting you guys anyway, and sorry that I couldn't go to the meeting yesterday, I hope we can meet up in another time.:32::31:

In addition, there are some ways to let our voice to be louder:

1. write an article to CANTA.Compare/list the fees increased every year, even under the inflation situation, for our international student, the high exchange rate make us paid more.However, the service provide to international student didn't get better thru these years. Moreover, every year, the council decided increase fees without notice our international student before they made the decision. (Domestic students do have the rights to know about it) etc...

2.ask for more people to join us. There are more than 2000 international students study at University of Canterbury, from 51 different countries. If we can ask more support from all the international students, that will be great.

3.Maybe write articl to THE PRESS as well, or invite them to take photo/report for the protest. Also, invite Chinese Newspaper to support us as well.

4.UCSA. As part of USCA members, why the president didn't do anything to protest the international student fees? This is very interesting things.

So, ya, we need to do more "home work" first, and give them a big hit~^^

Further more, as I know, every university is increasing their international student fees next year. And it just likes a trend. We surely should fight for our rights, but it is unlikely the result will change much. So, don't expect too much, but we shouldn't give up trying just because we might can't change anything. You never know what will happen if you don't try. At least, if we can get more service and support for international students, that will be great. Coz as a customer who paying lots of money every year, we should get something from university, right? At least we need feel comfortable to study at university, and feel friendly, and we are supported by those "customer services" people when we need, right?

还有，1977和我说当年OTOAG抗议的时候也是就组织了2周，我们可以TRY OUR BEST
