From 2024 Australia will remove its middle income tax brackets of 37% and 32.5% - meaning it will have a single tax bracket of 30.0% from $45000 to $200000 - this combined with the tax free threshold of $18200 will mean for the first time in over 50 years NZ will have a higher tax take on personal incomes (for those earning less than 200K) than Australia.
