Nursery Production Advisor:

About us:
We started our business in cactus and succulents and has been prospering in the last few years in terms of nursery and retailing. We are now planning to start another nursery for the existing business and expanding towards indoor and garden landscaping plants. We are looking for an experienced nursery technologist to initiate the indoor and garden plant nursery section with us.
Working with the nursery team you will:
∙ Support the Nursery Operations Manager for greenhouse compartments designing and overall layout planning.
∙ Work alongside the Nursery Operations Manager for making commercial plant list, contacting wholesalers, and keeping the inventory up to date.
∙ Guide seasonal greenhouse workers to conduct plant propagating, feeding, trimming, repotting, packing and facility maintenance.
∙ Supervise the production of plants in line with operational direction and client needs.
∙ Support the Nursery Operations Manager with the supervision of staff, infrastructure, facilities, and resourcing.
∙ Build close relationships with distributors and customers.
To be successful in this role, your skills and experience will include:
∙ Minimum Level 4 certification in Horticulture or similar with relevant experience in nursery production.
∙ At least 3+ years greenhouse nursery production experience.
∙ Proven experience in indoor plant industry in a greenhouse environment would be a major advantage.
∙ Commercially astute with budget in line with In-depth knowledge of plant market needs in terms of what is common, popular, or rare.
∙ Knowledge of plant production, propagation techniques, and greenhouse operation.
∙ Affiliation with other nurseries and strong customer service.
∙ Demonstrated leadership skills working with diverse teams and managing seasonal workers.
∙ Physically fit and willing to be hands on where needed.
