This film is not against euthanasia.

I’m not trying to present an argument against the End of Life Choice Act. After all, it’s a film, not an essay.

But I do want to give Kiwis another chance to think before they vote. And I hope everyone will recognise the difference between talking about morality of euthanasia and saying euthanasia should be legal or not.

I wanted to point out a few things that people may not know about the End of Life Choice Act, in the hopes that people will not rely solely on their intuition or personal experience, but instead, spend an hour looking at what the proponents and the opponents of the act are saying on their websites.

Listen to the experts. There is a reason why Hospice NZ and Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners are against the act and why over a thousand NZ doctors have signed an open letter petition to the parliament.

Palliative care can manage most physical pain and illnesses, and it is impossible to allow euthanasia to only the people who have no alternative under the End of Life Choice Act. If this is true, shouldn’t we focus on medical treatment and research to provide palliative care to more people and find better ways to treat illnesses instead of assisting suicide?

Kill the problem, not the people with them.

她女儿有预期只剩六个月命的疾病吗？他女儿因为这个疾病痛不欲生吗？这次投票不是投合法自杀，妖言惑众

这个破电影就是在偷换概念，安乐死法案又不是说谁都可以想死就死。
跟鼓励自杀完全毛都不沾。

我觉得拍这种垃圾的人不是蠢就是坏，真希望这些人都得个全身溃烂，极端痛苦的绝症，
然后我们拼命把他摁呼吸机维持住生命，就是让他长长久久。
