Coronavirus: Pakuranga College principal 'furious' after incorrect report of case

The principal of an Auckland high school is “furious” with the Ministry of Health for incorrectly claiming a coronavirus case had been linked to the school.

At the 1pm press conference on Friday, the Ministry of Health’s director-general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said there was a confirmed case linked to Pakuranga College.

But on social media shortly after, the school said it was the first it had heard of the case.

“The principal is currently on the phone to the [Ministry] of Health demanding answers.

“We will keep you informed as soon as we have more information.”

Health Minister Chris Hipkins said during the conference that the school should be aware of the case.

On social media, the school said it was “very disappointed” it wasn’t informed.

But later, the school posted that the Government had been in touch to confirm that in fact there were no cases at the school.

“The Ministry of Education with the Ministry of Health have advised that we have no cases of Covid-19 at Pakuranga College.”

这个真不一定怪他。这种大佬级别的人开会前都是下面的人做好报表给他念的。这类的数据他也都读下面人给他的。

他没有说错话吧，学校有一个case是真的吧？就是校长抱怨没通知他们。这种不算造谣吧？

他说错了，这个学校完全没有case

必须怪他，还有卫生部长，甚至是工党跟总理。上梁不正下梁歪，推给下属算什么？

估计这个学校在监控中，否则那么多学校怎么就提到这个，估计感染者孩子在这里上学。

估计这个学校也是在监控中，否则全国这么多学校，莫名其妙嘴里说出来。
