What began as an argument between two women on a mothers’ group chat site about coronavirus has ended in two hospitalisations.
According to Northern Beaches Police, the Sydney women, both aged in their 30s, decided to “resolve their issues in person” after an online stoush.
One of the women allegedly brought another member of the online community for “support”.
“The argument quickly escalated from verbal to physical,” according to the Northern Beaches Police Area Command.
“Pushing, slapping, hair pulling and finally both on the ground, briefly unconscious, all despite the efforts of bystanders trying to intervene.”
Both of the women reportedly wound up in hospital, one requiring a scan for a possible brain injury and the other receiving x-rays for a shoulder injury.
A Personal Violence Order has been taken out against one of the women as police continue their investigation.
