Japan Day is New Zealand's largest Japanese Festival attended annually by tens of thousands of people. Japan Day first came about in 2001 at ASB Stadium, and shifted to the Cloud and Shed 10 on Auckland's Waterfront in 2015. This year, Japan Day will be held in Eden Park, the home of Rugby, in the same year as Japan hosts the Rugby World Cup. We need your help to make Japan Day 2019 a success.
We hope through our Sport Auckland’s ActivAsian volunteering opportunities, you will make new friends, become more physically active, improve English, enhance your skills that are useful to your study and future career such as communication, teamwork and leadership skills, and of course have heaps of fun!
You will also receive an ActivAsian volunteer certificate, if youmeet all the requirements:
· 16 or above 16 years old and meet other requirements by individual event organisers;
· be prompt on communication via Emails/WeChat/Facebook/Txt Messages/Phone calls;
· be on time on the volunteering day and perform your duties well;
· volunteer at a minimum of three sporting events or a minimum of three workshops during the year;
· fill in a post-participation survey

Date: Sunday 3rd March 2019
Working hours:
· FULL Shift – 8.30am to 6pm
· AM Shift – 8.30am to 1.30pm
· PM Shift – 1pm to 6pm
*Please let us know which shift you are available
Where: Briefing room in the building, enter through Gate J
What to do: Meet & Greet patrons atgates, help to move people around and assist with the activities.
Dress code: Please remember to wear smart casual shorts, pants or skirt. You will be wearing the Blue and yellow polo shirts and jackets, thermal long sleeve black or white can be worn under polo shirt.
Application
First, if you haven’t registered before, sign up now to join our Sport Auckland's ActivAsian volunteer team. Email sherry@sportauckland.co.nz to send you the registration link and let us know your name +phone number + dietary requirement as soon as possible.
After sign up, we will send you more information as event date gets close. If you cannot make it on the event day, find a replacement and let us know that person's contact information at least 3 days prior to the event day. Fail to do so will affect yourparticipation in future volunteering events.
