Your trade mark application will be published in the Trade Marks Journal on 22 February 2019 and
advertised for three months. However, a trade mark cannot be registered until six months after its
filing date. This is to avoid the possibility of conflict with a later filed trade mark which has
convention priority. Your trade mark will therefore be registered six months after the date of
application unless:
- Your mark is opposed;
- A request for an extension of time in which to lodge an opposition is granted;
- A mark is filed that is confusingly similar to yours and on the same or similar goods,
which claims convention priority earlier to the priority date of your application; or
- The application should not have been accepted for some reason
