We are a market leading FMCG Company specialising in the importing and distribution of Asian food products to New Zealand market. An opportunity exists for a proactive and self-motivated Sales Assistant to work in a fast paced environment.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Sales Assistant is responsible for the successful management and implementation of company strategies, inclusive of cycle objectives in nominated accounts across a defined territory through utilisation of their business acumen, strategic planning capability, passion and energy for success.
Main responsibilities include:
•        Plan, set and achieve agreed sales targets and profit budgets by actively managing and strategically grow existing accounts.
•        Identify customers' needs and recommend appropriate product range to achieve profitable growth
•        Seek and build new business and develop opportunities
•        Effectively manage cycle execution and all aspects of local area marketing and the territory plan
•        Develop and maintain mutually beneficial commercial relationships with external stakeholders
•        Develop & maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
•        Provide industry and product knowledge to retailers
•        Execute all aspects of brand and trade strategies at store level
•        Continually develop their skill sets in line with the changing industry

The successful candidate will possess the following:
•        Ideally the successful applicant will have passion in FMCG industry, combined with desire to learn and establish a career in FMCG sector
•        Previous experience in sales in FMCG would be an advantage, but not essential
•        Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Sales or Business discipline desirable
•        Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets with a strong 'sales hunter' approach.
•        English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) essential
•        Strong written and verbal communication skills
•        Strong relationship building skills
•        Excellent customer service skills
•        Great work ethic
•        Team player
•        Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously
•        Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise initiatives

You must also be able to work in NZ with either PR or at least a 12 month work Visa.
