Below is a reposted message from Vereana and John who are the very kind orchard owners who let strangers pick the persimmons at the weekend.
They opened the orchard up to other people today and people have taken a lot of their crates and some of their clippers (hopefully in error). This is worth a lot of money to them so we want to do what we can to help them get this equipment back.
We had permission to take the black crates on Sunday and have systems in place for returning these but they have lost of lot of crates today.
Could you please re-post this message to all your networks especially if people have links within the Chinese and Asian communities as this is where a lot of people were from today. If people want to return equipment to the Environment Centre on Peachgrove Road at 5 crossroads we will make sure the crates are returned to the orchard.

We had a successful weekend picking approx. 7 tonne for the community.
In addition to this we offered the fruit for free. This went Viral and we had 600 ish people here today parked up at 7.30 am parked on both sides of the street. It was manic.All the persimmons are gone.
One request I have is can you please make this email viral (particularly the Asian communities please) like you did the previous one as over 200 of our black trays were taken because someone put on their post they were free. They were not to be taken. THIS WILL COST US OVER $4000.
In addition to this 10 of out clippers to cut the fruit off also were taken in error.
I believe people forgot to hand them in. I understand a lot of people came from outside of Hamilton and it will be a hassle to get the trays back to us but can you please post to us as the value of the postage is far less than that for the fruit you have got today.

I would like to thank everyone who respected our property and the gift we have given. It is saddening that a few did leave rubbish and stuff around the orchard so please remember next time you have an opportunity like this to treat this gift with respect.
Remember you did get it for free it shouldn't cost us to clean up after you. Most people were very polite and thankful.
