先简单介绍下自己的情况
身份是有的，citizen。澳大cs去年年中毕业，非大神，学校学的最多的语言是java。毕业后发发现web很感兴趣，就自学了前端的一些知识。html/css/javascript/jquery/magento/wordpress/bootstrap。刚放假就开始打工contract工作，2个加起来有差不多9个月的web工作经验，但说实话没学到啥东西，基本都在打杂。上学期间有3年的customer service经验，因为来得久了，英语没啥问题，基本没口音。很希望找到一份junior或entry level的developer稳定的工作，但屡屡失败。找工作就基本是seek trademe indeed，但基本都没戏，面试都很少。但是投it support, system admin 之类的面试几率就大很多了，还收到俩offer因为太远也没去。现在在家待业的感觉很焦灼，除了学习就是发简历，都好几个月了。请教这个时期我应该做出什么选择，继续苦逼找developer工作，或者换方向做it support（比较纠结的是以这个入门是否不理想，毕竟不专精），还是去学个短期的course比如industry connect什么的。感觉自己在家待的都快废了。

为毛不能骑驴找驴呢？先把help desk/IT support的做了，拿份工资，算有工作的人了，心里也踏实。
然后边做边找工作呗。
不然你就这么找下去，老找不到，reference都会成问题吧？而且老没工作很打击自信心吧？你去面试也不好说不是？人家会质疑你的工作诚意。明明有offer还不肯工作，一门心思死做，拿福利？靠父母？虽然嘴上不说，心里多少有点儿想法的。怕给你工作你也不会踏实做，动不动挑不对口啦，不喜欢啦什么的。
其它的等业界人士给你专业解答吧，譬如说，这方面的demand是不是不高？是否应该换个工作种类看看，或者推荐下什么工作比较容易入门神马哒~~~
最后，祝LZ好运，找工作这个事情不好说啦，有些人很顺，但大多数人都不太容易找到对口喜欢的工作。慢慢来，贵在坚持，不要放弃。

本身是程序员出身，来NZ后，在所谓的IT圈子里也混了十多年了。我的感觉是，程序猿这个东西，属于精英行业，打个比方，跟画画一样，要么就是画家，作品值钱，收入丰厚。要么就是当个兴趣爱好。

如果想继续吃折扣饭，就要让自己成为精英。当然，还需要一点儿运气。
否则，可以考虑改行。

基本情况属实的话你专业能力太差了编程能力你既不能靠GPA证明也没有自己完成的projects证明也没有做过真正coding的工作 network也没有人际圈只能做IT里最底层的工作好运吧

可笑了，那就永远别工作了？
找IT工作，customer service都能做reference, help desk/it support有什么不可能？
没有相关经验找起来会难，尤其现在，但也许多没有经验的人出来找工作，它不可能永远不收没有相关经验的。
工作reference也并全是相关能力的，很多是证明这个人的做事风格，工作态度，是否能够与人相处，team work如何的。

能说出这种话来，你才真搞笑呢。

Agree with Anais.

I worked in some of biggest NZ / AUS companies in Solution Architect / Enterprise Architect spaces, every big companies I go, there's people outrank me ( Head of Department, General Managers etc) start their career in help desk / it support roles.

Initially I'm shocked and I thought it's probably very rare, but as time goes by I observed this is actually very common.

So don't be discouraged to start from bottom. Add oil LZ

I guess here is the list of the reasons that you cannot find the developer's job

1 Market full of job seekers which you cannot do anything about
2 Your programming skill is not good enough which you can do something about.

If you are an expert on javascript/jquery or php, I think that you will have a developer job. I learned that most websites are developing using php.

Here are some questions for you
How good is the website you develop compare to others i.e. trademe, nzherald etc
Are the user of your website happy about the website performance?
What is the website scalability?
How many concurrent connections the website can handle?
Does the web page have quick response?

My back ground for your information
I have 21 years commercial programming experience including 17 years nz experience and develop 80% market share of nz/au websites for one area.
I love programming :-)

专业能力差了

如果说自学了html/css/javascript/jquery/bootstrap不长的时间，比如一年多，那就是个入门级的。这些是基础的，通用的，但也是最需要时间来积累的。

magento/wordpress这两属于应用，而且是属于开发量不大的应用，再牛逼换个工作环境就等于零。换句话说，这两用得再牛，只要公司不用这两，就等于零。

I started my first job as an IT support, and now i am a team manager for a team of 20, for one of the largest company in NZ. Currently i am being headhunted by a US company with a total package of around $200k.

thanks for looking down on IT support people, you must be very successful yourself in IT? :)
