I worked with both of them before, so i know a little bit about that team. It's between tier 1 and tier 2, most of the time you will be keeping an eye on big screen responding to alerts etc (closer to NOC type function), however i also know the company has appetite wanting to pass on more and more work to this team (level2 function).
Technology support by this team include wintel, linux, cisco, firewall, load balancer, database etc etc, so it covers a lot of domains which mean i think they will be looking for a generalist rather than a specialist. (note: i am from a different team so these are only my speculation. My team do work reasonably closely with the team you apply for which is why i know a little bit about them).
BTW, they both seem like pretty good manager to me (i am not sure if they are actually Indian from India though) so probably nothing for you to worry about.作者: 117wik 时间: 2016-3-24 18:22:36
they never used to pay that much for that team, base salary used to be more around $55k-65k. If they now pay $70k that's not bad for what they do at all.作者: 117wik 时间: 2016-3-24 18:23:52
The role LZ applied for is a level2 role, they need to be on shift, but they don't actually go out and fix problems as such (they only stay in office), and i don't think they need to be on call at all? (they will usually ring on call engineers for escalation purpose).
