今天ilam 区自来水像黄水汤，不但不敢喝，连洗衣做饭都让人担心。怎么搞的？

UPDATE: please see POST below:

We have identified the source of the cloudy water to a well in Avonhead. Small grains of sand have been pumping through the water system.

The water mains will be flushed, and should be completed by this afternoon. The water will be clear by the end of the day.

Advice to citizens: We would also suggest that you don't drink the water until it is clear. Turn on outside taps to flush it clear.

If your water is still cloudy tomorrow we advise you to ring council on: 03 941 8999.

POST: If you are experiencing cloudy tap water, we advise you not to drink from the tap at this time. This seems to be a localised issue within the following boundary:

From the corner of Russley Road and Yaldhurst Road down to Church Corner (Riccarton Road) and eastward from there.

We are currently investigating this matter and will update you as soon as we know more. We suggest using bottled water until further notice. This is just a safety precaution and is a low-level risk.^KS
