Yes there's a huge demand for male childcare teacher (but not there's too many female childcare teachers on the market though). i reckon it will easy for male childcare teachers to get a job, and most male childcare teacher get promoted a lot quicker than female too.
Only thing you need to be aware of re childcare is:
- pay isn't that great (starting pay of about $21/hr, $28/hr is almost the absolute max no matter how senior you are unless you work for one of those none for profit childcare which there isn't that many around)
- you need to be passionate about the industry and love kids to be able to deal with kids day in and out
BTW good thing bout childcare is if you have other degree, you can do the post grad for ECE and it only takes one year to complete. i read your other post, i reckon you if study ECE, and your wife study accounting, there's a good chance that one of you will be able to get full time and get PR.
