你这是废话啊，AU什么工资不比新西兰高？

最简单的例子，AU的超市都几年前就17-19澳币一小时了

这个比较难比较吧~~~生活成本也不一样啊~~~奥克兰拿10W 和基督城拿10W一样嘛~~我觉得你可以就在网上查查毕业生底薪~~~IT做高了就看个人本事了

这个问题不用问，至少35%以上澳大利亚比新西兰高
不但是软件开发，网络安全，网页制作，媒体设计澳大利亚都要高新西兰30%以上
新西兰IT短缺年年都撤不下来，就是因为有工作经验的IT员工都在向北美，澳大利亚涌，而另一方面刚毕业的IT学生有得不到机会（没什么公司愿意培养新人，谁都想要熟练工，上来就能出活儿，那几家大的也至培养很好大学的纯A学生，而且数量很有限）。
你可以在网上投几个简历就知道了，只要你有5年+开发经验，眼光别局限在澳大利亚，可以投北美看看

A follow up to those commented about seeking a job in North America, isn't working visa very hard to attain in USA? Does anyone know any friends able get USA working visa with NZ passport?

没觉得澳洲工资比这边高多少，其他行业可能澳洲要高很多，但是IT行业感觉差不多，略高一点感觉。看了一下Seek上澳洲的工作，真没感觉高太多。如果真能高这么多，真该考虑去澳洲看看。

我也也觉得澳洲it行业没有比新西兰高很多，甚至都差不多，contractor甚至比新西兰挣得少。我contractor同事告诉我的

that is my impression too.
In the past the gap is larger, with the strong Aus currency and tax benefits like LAFHA, Aus is definitely better money wise.

But give credit to NZ economy, as of now, I no longer feel Aus's pay justify the hassle of pick up your life and move over. Firstly the money gap is much smaller, Aus currency is much weaker and most contractor tax benefit is no longer applicable. Plus Aus tax rate is higher and superannuation is 9%

agree, i have 15 years IT experience, if i don't take into account the exchange rate difference, my current NZ pay isn't any less than what i would get in Aust at all.

since there are enough people that know me on this forum, i am going to give quite a wide range (120k-160k).
Basically,
- a contracting role that pay $80/hr doesn't interest me anymore.
- I been to an interview with a large corporate for a "head of" role, and my current pay isn't that far off it. - Most of the roles i got tapped in the shoulder by head hunters in Australia pay either less or the same as my current pay (not taking into account currency differences).
- one of my ex-colleague that i trained up moved to Aust to work for Cisco, and his pay in Aust dollar at the time is way less.

Hope it helps (and sorry for being vague, it's a pretty sensitive topic at the end of the day). All i am trying to say is, grass isn't always greener on the other side of the ditch, work hard and you can get rewarded very well in NZ too.

在哪里干都不如炒房来的快. 我们在拼命想挣年薪十万, 那些炒房的一转手就是几十万到手了. 还有很多中介每年可以拿上百万的.

此话不假，但炒房那些有投机的行为，做房产timing很重要，市场好猪都跟着飞。运气和眼光很关键的。有个一技之长是长久之道，起码老婆孩子有个不错稳定的生活，在此之上业余的搞搞房产，弄下tax return,房产升值了也不用交capital gain tax,这又挣到钱，又有了职业，还利用政策合理避税了

你的这个工资范围是permanent or contractor position? 你既然说是Cisco了，你指的是网络方面的拿这个数?

My friend got hired to a US based it company right out of university, company provided H1B visa sponsorship. However the annoying thing is that the visa quotas got used up very quickly, so he had to wait nearly a year before he got his visa

这边都是拿的死工资啦。看上去很多，拿到手就看不过去了。

如果水平足够高，还是美国的收入更高。

其实中国的收入也不低了，比来比去好像中国到手收入也和新西兰差不多。如果在加上stock option，新西兰就没法比了。

你不找怎么知道呢，光看平均数落到你身上有什么意义？澳洲的优势在于大公司多，机会多，nz这边salary cap 你做permanent 在没有leadership的职位基本到140k 到顶。可澳洲有google，有atlassian，有amazon，这些公司做技术斗没有cap的。

不过凡事斗有例外

IT行业，在币种不论的情况下，澳洲工资只不过比新西兰高0-10%而已。现在澳币几乎和纽币持平，澳洲IT工作对新西兰人没什么吸引力啦。

高级职位的确是澳洲机会多，但是新加坡的高级职位比澳洲更多，这么看，直接奔去新加坡好了。

你说的和我看到的完全相反，入门的在澳洲工资比新西兰高出一大截，相反高职位的真的就差距太小了
