The New Zealand front woman of an immigration scam has been given home detention and made to pay back $30,000 to six Chinese chefs.

Jinyan (Jenny) Zhang, 35, had pleaded guilty to six charges of obstructing an Immigration New Zealand investigation, supplying false information and aiding in the breach of visas.
Zhang had run an immigration company that would help Chinese nationals come to New Zealand to find work.  One of the categories of skilled workers needed was for Chinese chefs.
The victims would pay $24,000 New Zealand in China, often having to borrow the money, to get a visa and a job offer.  Zhang would organise the visas and jobs offers were made with various restaurants, like Lychee Cafe, the Yangtze restaurant or Uncle Chan's Group but when they arrived they were told the job was somewhere else.
Wellington District Court judge Ian Mill said some never worked at the places they had been promised.  The conditions were not the same as on their visas and they were not paid what was agreed.  One was not paid at all for some work she did.
One chef was sent to work at Lychee Cafe for only a week after being told Immigration New Zealand were investigating.  He was told to say he had been there the whole time.
Another woman was told INZ were looking for her and to hide and not speak to them.  If she did Zhang would consider helping her.
Judge Mill said Zhang's company, Ancheng, which was no longer in operation, had been paid considerable amounts of money and none of the victims who complained had had any money refunded.
He said Zhang was the New Zealand arm of the scam and the victims had been treated poorly.
He gave her 10 months home detention, ordered her to do 300 hours community work and to pay $30,000 to be divided between the victims.
Others involved in the scam are to be sentenced tomorrow.
Zhang's lawyer Barbara Hunt said she had been trying to help the workers finding them new work in New Zealand.
INZ lawyer Ian Murray said it was clear Zhang had helped orchestrate the fraudulent scheme, where workers were paid well below the minimum wage and were exploited.

On arrival in New Zealand the chefs were exploited in a number of ways, including being paid less than the minimum wage, subjected to poor working conditions and placed in employment that violated their visa conditions.

In the Wellington District Court, Zhang was sentenced to 10 months home detention, 300 hours community work and ordered to pay a total of 30,000 NZ dollars (23,863 U.S. dollars) reparation to six of the victims, said an INZ statement.

没不让说,我就是接楼上的话而已...Janny XXXX以前接触过,不怎么样,这个公司后来就没再进去过...这个官司判的不冤...

还有,打没打虚假广告再走司法程序针对广告内容之前你最好不要这么说...

公共场合的信息媒体是没有办法去调查论证,也没有义务...反倒是公众本身需要自己去鉴别过滤,你说呢?

Young admitted one charge of supplying false or misleading information to Immigration New Zealand and was to be sentenced on Dec. 10.

我相信楼主的大肆宣传一定是抱着服务大家，通报大家，警醒大家的目的。

之前的版主倒卖海鲜的事和这次的安诚的事都是如此。

确实，这种嫉恶如仇，没有任何问题，挑不出毛病。

但是在各大板块“普大喜奔”的感觉有点让我生厌了。这可能是因为我自己的个人素养还不高吧，恩，应该是这样的。

在新西兰的中国人不管愿意还是不愿意，都会天然地形成一个命运共同体。群体里的害群之马即使与你我没有任何关系，他们的所做所为也会多多少少影响到自己的生活。

每当在新西兰的中国人做了违法的事，然后被同事提到，我都会羞愧难当，那种郁闷有时候一二天都不能释怀。

可不是嘛，所以这种害群之马就应该被大肆曝光，让他们不敢再犯这样的错误。

我就是通过他们办的创业移民，现在拿9个月签证。目前他们停止服务了，不知道会不会对我下一次签证带来麻烦

他们都没有资格办移民了。。。

有些人不是落魄，而是犯下了罪行被惩罚。

以前听说他们是拿留学生练手，别的地方认为办不下来的他们也接，然后最后却是没办下来，且不说耽误别人时间和金钱，但这种拿别人练手还顺便赚点零花钱的态度不可取
