我想想新西兰都免费医疗的---yes
买医疗保险的有优先权???---no, not at all if you go to public hospital; but you can choose to go private hospital, because private hospital has shorter queue, so they might see you much sooner.

For example knee replacement (I actually looked after this patient when he came to GP), this old man went to private hospital ( I won't name the hospital because legal stuff) for the surgery, the surgery went ok, he's discharged from private hospital, but this man had a huge infection at the surgery part. The infection didn't go away for 2weeks (GP had been doing the antibiotics and dressing for this guy). So this man was again to private to follow up, still ongoing infection, so the private hospital then referred this guy to public hospital for the infection.
Numerous cases, my friends in public hospital, see these referrals from private quite often. The receptionist at my work had the same experience--private failure and then refer to public.
Personally I don't have any medical insurance.
But totally depend on you. My mum is anxious type lady, so even very minor stuff, she will want to be seen by hospital right away--so she is good candidate to get medical insurance because there's generally no waiting to be seen through private options..
But I'm a bit more cruisy, so I wouldn't worry as much.

Um..there's always a stand down period--like once you get ur insurance, you have to wait at least 3months or half year before you can "use" the insurance claim.
Also insurance company will not cover any pre-existing condition--please discuss this with insurance company or agents...You might need to add extra premium to cover pre-existing condition作者: boyis 时间: 2014-10-10 08:39:25
