Yes I agree with above Golf R is pretty sluggish below 2000rpm, from 2500rpm+ it is quite alive. Fuel consumption kind of suck too... 8.4L/100km is almost impossible... lot of highway, 9L, city mix, 11L.
With GTI, you might get some wheel slip in wet up hill.
Also, Golf R has high spec? HID as standard and privacy glass and bigger wheels?
