Mercury’s three year fixed contract, offered in 2010, imposed about a 9 per cent price increase on the standard Mercury rate.
As many customers contracts are expiring, customers may not realise they must give Mercury written notice within the last 30 days of their fixed price contract, otherwise they’ll be locked into another contract. Once locked in, customers may find it very difficult to terminate the contract without being penalised.
