Fire crews have been battling 战斗 a large scrub fire in Karekare, west of Auckland, since early this afternoon.
Emergency services have been on the scene at Karekare Rd since 1pm where the large-scale fire which has been fueled by high-winds has spread up the hillside.大风助长了火势
Helicopters are also dumping sea water 倾倒海水 over the blaze in an effort to stop it from spreading to nearby homes.
The fire has also caused large rocks to fall to the roadside. 山体滑坡 Police have blocked off traffic to Karekare Rd and are urging motorists to avoid the area.
