I am having communication troubles at work since my English is not so good.
It has not been an issue for the past few years mainly because I was doingfinancial accounting , Reports & Journals. And colleagues at that time were quite tolerating.

Now I have been involved in budgeting & forecast& meeting in a very Kiwi company, Found my English is woefully inadequate to the task. Often I could not expressmy ideas clearly & People are losing patience.

Any helps? suggestions? Except more reading, I can’t think of any other practical ways .My problem probably more on Pronunciation and speaking. Is there a course that I can do ? Any one have any ideas???

I did ESOL 200 papers (writing & speaking) in Uni, did not found themuse fully in anyway at all.

Updates on Toastmaster Clubs.

Try 1, Glenfield Toastmasters- Hall rd every 2nd Wed. - Don't think will help much with speaking. Might be good for listening.

wish that all managers in your company have basic accounting knowledge.

I don't like to talk to someone who doesn't know any accounting, stupid kiwi... sometimes, I throw the paper on their desk, and ask them to learn some basic accounting.

。。。见谅

I am not religious at all, Should I still go to church? & which one? any recommendations?

I would like to make some friends within my professions at this company, but seems really difficult. There are few non-native English speakers around here, and be honest, I can feel their impatience.

That is why I really want to improve my english so that I can get arond as a normal person.

Thanks for your suggestions but Problem is not the presentation which I normally would make effort to prepare.

I have troubles just with daily work discussions ,meetings, I am doing project/job accounting. It's a constant job to discuss issues with PMs ,Managers & other accountants.
My previous jobs was more on the financials , which I've know better. But now it's now often involves discussion on the operations which I am lack of English words to elaborate on any matters. Once I do have any ideas, I need to think it over (where people losing patience) and use simple words which obviously got their limitations.

And I am not really top on the chain in this profession, but already feel so desperately inadequate.

dont make "friends" within the organisation that you work for...

they are your colleagues and that should really be it.

If you want to improve your English, for your situation, sign up as a volunteer for Red Cross or whatever group there is.

women need emotional connection with others, and they need to speak out 10,000 words a day.

so make friends with colleagues is ok la, otherwise she will get isolated and withdrawn.

Yes you should join Toastmaster Clubs.

The Club is to improve speaking abilities of members, so as long as you want to improve your english, what ever native language doesn't matter
