Ms Healey 是NZPC的代表，一个组织本身是不能发言的，必须通过发言人、代理人。

我已经电邮nzpc要求suport data，不能送三分之一就三分之一。要有依据。
有他们的回信，会更新，否则，大家都当笑话看这篇文章吧。

The numbers are certainly fluid and not accurate. We document the ethnicity of the people we have had contact with over six monthly periods. We are not sure where that figure comes, from which states a third of all sex workers are Chinese. It is possible someone in our organisation was pushed into nominating a figure to Lincoln but we feel it is not accurate. We collect broad data, and report that in the six months from July 1 to Dec 31 2012 we had contacts with 17.3% of sex workers in the Auckland region whom we perceived to be Asian. This is not necessarily an accurate measure as it only captures the sex workers we had contact with throughout this time.

收到了Dr Calum Bennachie from NZPC的来信。非常详细，一看就是写过论文，没有用那些哗众取宠的简单数据，吸引大家的眼球。大家读读，看看现在该怎么办啊？明显人家的报告：
1）没有包括任何针对中国人的调查，出来的结果是亚洲人，包括了By “Asian”, it includes all people from Asia, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc.  It is not limited to “Chinese”.
2）2012该组织调查了15519 sex workers在全新西兰范围，其中2046是Asian sex workers (13.18% of the total).  ，其中奥克兰范围，8786人包括 1519 (17.29%)是亚洲人.  Again, as noted above, “Asian”is not limited to “Chinese”, but to all people from Asia, including non-Chinese people.
3）在移民局采样中，发现只能有3.51%的sex workers是华人，这些华人，包括住在auckland,Wellington and Tauranga.所以奥克兰华人sex workers比例还要更少，

When we did the counts for the Christchurch School of Medicine, and the Ministry of Justice, we did not collect ethnicity, only gender and venue (indoors managed, indoors private , and outdoors).  The total number of sex workers calculated for Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson and the Hawkes Bay were provided to the Christchurch School of Medicine. Ethnicity was only recorded in this study when people were interviewed or completed the surveys. That study also noted : “An exclusion criterion for this study was that participants whose English was not sufficient to understand the questions without the aid of an interpreter, were excluded. There is therefore limited representation of Asian workers in New Zealand.” (http://www.justice.govt.nz/polic ... y/executive-summary)

Therefore it is unlikely Lincoln was using this study.

The advert audit completed for the Ministry of Justice also does not record the ethnicity of sex workers: http://www.justice.govt.nz/polic ... -in-new-zealand#232  Although it may be inferred that websites asianbabes.co.nz do advertise people who are predominantly Asian, the 0 beside shows that the businesses or people advertising on that site were also advertising elsewhere.  It is therefore impossible to use this study to claim that 1/3rd of sex workers in Auckland are Chinese.

The only record of ethnicity that I can think of that we keep (at least in this office), is the record of contacts we have with sex workers.  This records Maori, European, Pacific Island, Asian, and Other.  By “Asian”, it includes all people from Asia, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc.  It is not limited to “Chinese”.

In 2012, we had contact with 15519 sex workers throughout New Zealand, either by seeing them at the community base, or seeing them on outreach, either at a brothel (including a private home) or on the street.  Of that 15519 contacts, 2046 were Asian sex workers (13.18% of the total).

Our Auckland community base had 8786 contacts with sex workers, of which 1519 (17.29%) were Asian.  Again, as noted above, “Asian”is not limited to “Chinese”, but to all people from Asia, including non-Chinese people.

Furthermore, these are contacts, not individuals.  One person may be accessing NZPC in several different ways: by coming into the community base, by being seen on outreach to a managed brothel or private workers residence, or being seen on outreach to the streets.  It should also be noted that some sex workers travel around the country, so may be recorded in one or more community bases either by visiting the base or by being seen on outreach (or both).

NZPC has recently completed some research into the needs of Migrant workers.  While the majority of the respondents to this were Chinese (people were asked what part of Asia they were from if they identified as Asian), there were only 51 respondents.  This is not a large percentage of the sex industry, and represents only 3.51% of the 1451 estimated sex workers in the Auckland region.  It should be noted that respondents also came from Wellington and Tauranga, so the percentage of respondents to this study living in Auckland would be even less.

It would not be possible, using any of these figures to claim that 1/3rd of sex workers in Auckland are Asian, let alone Chinese.

十分感谢17carlos 的努力，由此看来，LincolnTan的数据是随意编造的，由此引申他以前的报道都不可信，应该有组织地找他交涉，发信给NZ Herald高层，自己能想到的渠道：
1. 通过skykiwi高层和这里的网友
2. 通过华人社区侨领如黄玮章等
3. 通过华人议员如霍建强、杨建等
4. 通过奥克兰总领馆

真不知道此人的数据是从何而来，　如果数据确凿的话，　那么应该非常容易知道那些人到底是什么ｖｉｓａ啊，　为什么此人却不清楚到底是多少ｓｔｕｄｅｎｔ　ｖｉｓａ呢。　何况很多ｓｔｕｄｅｎｔ　ｖｉｓａ是允许打２０小时工的啊，　做妓女如果有交税的话也属于合法打工啊，　ｓｔｕｄｅｎｔ　ｖｉｓａ上又没有说不能当妓女，　只要有交税而且不超过２０小时。　此人发此言论明显就是歧视妓女这个职业。

不是华人女生中，三分之一是妓女，是妓女中三分之一是华人吧？

比如：华人女生有3千，不可能有1千是妓女。
正确的理解是，妓女有300人，其中一百是华裔的（可能有东南亚，印尼，台湾，香港等来自大中华地区的华裔后代呢？）华人女生不是大陆出来的女孩吧？

我觉得大陆出来的女孩，都挺自尊自爱的，家境也都不错，极少从事这个行业的吧？

Dr Healy says that Ms Pickering’s statement that a third of Auckland's sex workers are Chinese is speculation rather than based on data collected by NZPC. However, she does state in the April 11, 2011 article that: "Predominantly, the illegal part of the industry is Chinese."

The information on the number of Chinese sex workers was given to us in a 2011 interview with Ms Pickering for our "China and us" series. However, these figures were okayed by Dr Healey with a follow-up call after the interview with Ms Pickering in 2011. We have removed the line from this story:

Annah is working for NZPC.  I support the impressions my staff have on the ground as they provide frontline services to people working in the sex industry. Annah is reflecting on her knowledge of the Auckland sex industry. There is no intention to mislead. We are conscious of sensitivities in relation to the positioning of ethnic groups in the sex industry. Perhaps some rigorous research is required although counting sex workers in an underground sex industry can be quite difficult.  The previous research audit was conducted a few years ago and as Calum explained it did not capture ethnicities.  I counted 16/66  adverts in the Adult column of the Dom Post recently in Wellington that promotes sex workers who are described as being either ‘’Asian’” or Thai women. It is not perfect science but rather it gives me an impression.

In examining the figures for our outreach, where Annah would have gained her impression, in the 12 months ending December 1012, NZPC Auckland had 1780 contacts with sex workers.  Of this, 646 were Asian, that is, 36.29%.  Although not all of these are Chinese, a very large number of them are.  This is not rigorous research, but rather a collection of data that pertains only to the number of contacts NZPC has had  with sex workers.

I am the person you have complained to and I will stress the importance of aligning our media comments to evidence based research where ever possible. I think Annah did not categorically state that a third of the sex workers were Chinese  but speculated. Finally,  Media can sometimes not report all that is stated nor  the wider context of a statement.
