My wife and I are planning to go back to live in China next year. My wife holds a Chinese passport while I hold a NZ passport, and we married in NZ. Just wondering what kind of Visa should I be applying? We are thinking of staying in China for the next few years. Thanks!

Visitor for 3-6 months, after that you have to renew the visa in PRC. For more detail, please make a phone call to embassy

yea~ you could apply visitor visa for the first of time for you to enter china.
after that, you could apply 1yr multi-entry for commerce, but base on that, you need an invitation letter from a company to apply this. other wise you have to repeat n repeat to apply visitor visa after date expires.

Yeah... Oh well, I guess you need to play by the rules if you want to live in China. So it's kinda expected. Luckily my wife's parents might be able to provide me with an invitation letter.

Thanks for that, but I don't think it will be "easy" for me or anyone to find a suitable job in China, it's a competitive place. By the way, I'm not a language teacher, just an IT guy :D

My canadian Eng teacher was a business man in Jap. Now he is teaching in BJ Language and Culture University. This is not a isolated case in China.  Due to  the average salary is not rich enough compare with OECD countries. It's a competitive place for who can only speak Chinese but not you. Enjoy you trip in China.
