A Wellington man who secretly filmed up to 20 people using his bathroom, including his wife and stepdaughters, has been sentenced to home detention and community work.
The 52-year-old man, who has name suppression, installed a digital camera in a wall socket in the bathroom that pointed at the shower. He told the women the socket was blown and they should not touch it.
Images of the three women, along with family, friends and acquaintances, were recorded and sent to the man's computer.
On Friday he was sentenced in Wellington District Court to home detention for six months and 200 hours' community work and ordered to pay $10,000 to his three victims, the New Zealand Herald reports.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to making and possessing intimate recordings.
