if you're talking about insurance underwriting..... insurance underwriter reviews insurance applications and evaluates the potential risk of the applicant. The underwriter helps determine whether the applicants gets approved or denied coverage. You need to be medical qualified to do this.

if financial underwirting like mortgage - it's much easier... assess the credit repaying ability of the people who apply for mortgage...

not sure about the pay... guess 50k-70k range??

保险公司的牛叉职位啊

承保人啦，就是负责根据每个不同客户的情况写出有利于自身公司的POLICY啦。是保险公司最重要的部门之一啦，年薪上10W的多的很，尤其是资深的。对于英语书面能力和保险行业规则、财务知识以及承包领域的专业知识要求很高，华人做这个的非常非常少，我只听说过一个。。。。

说个例子，例如，

一个18岁的年轻人，开一个SUBARU WRX，找你上保险，UNDERWRITER十有八九会直接做出“拒绝承保”，因为明摆着就是HIGHEST RISK，就算保费5000块一年，恐怕这小子开车也要让保险公司赔出去2、3W；

但是一个40岁的，结婚的有孩子的，开一个BRAND NEW MERCEDES-BENZ S500，别看这个车死贵死贵的，他的保费说不定才2000块一年，因为，根据各种条件综合来看，这个CASE == LOWEST RISK，就算只收2000块保险公司基本稳赚不赔的。

UNDERWRITER就是负责计算保费、EXCESS FEE，并且在你的承保通知书里面写出各种MEAN MEAN MEAN条款的那个人，呵呵。

I know insruance companies have some magic formula and the most personal insurance does not need Underwriter , only like a fleet of vehicles or a commercial building normally require underwriter's magic touch.
