Will start working in a new company soon. I just realized that they didnt buy health insurance for employees. Is that common? I know some of the companies buy good health insurance for their employees.....

廢話，，公司憑什麼要給員工買啊。極少數公司給員工買保險也是最差的那種，買了還不如不買。

新西兰不是美国，主要靠公立医疗机构，很多雇主都不提供医疗保险的

you are right. The current packge includes base salary + medical insurance+ others. It is better to get several thousands instead of other benefit....

for my case, the company dont. But for others, some do provide concession for employee family as far as I know.
