Imports of kiwifruit pollen occurred in 2008, 2009 and 2010, including six consignments from China and Chile. The Chinese pollen was not applied to kiwifruit in New Zealand, but was used for testing purposes. Of the Chilean pollen, some was applied to kiwifruit crops in the Bay of Plenty early last year.
Although Chile is not known to have Psa, some in the industry suspect infected plant material from Italy may have ended up there.
Most of the pollen imported to New Zealand was brought in by Te Puke company Kiwi Pollen, which is based close to where the first outbreak of Psa was discovered. The Commerce Commission is investigating a complaint under the Fair Trading Act against Kiwi Pollen that it failed to say precisely on its packaging where its pollen came from.作者: 萨米 时间: 2012-7-6 16:17:05
