我是學工程的，對於那種成天將什麼policy掛在嘴上的人最鄙視

今天早上到公司，收到內部工作的郵件，其中一看就是個每天喝咖啡扯淡的工作，可是薪水居然。。。


Manager Community Policy, Planning and Bylaws

• Play a key part in shaping community and cultural policy for Auckland
• Lead planning for the provision of a wide range of community facilities and services
• Use your policy development and leadership skills
• Be a part of shaping the future of Auckland
  

Here in the Regional and Local Planning department at Auckland Council, we play a crucial role in fulfilling the Mayor's vision of Auckland as the most liveable city in the world.
The Department's Community and Cultural Policy unit creates the policy and planning framework for a range of areas - parks and open space, sport and recreation, community development, arts and culture and social policy - which ensure that Auckland is a great place to live and play. The unit plays a key role in planning for the development of community infrastructure (facilities and services) including swimming pools, sports facilities, arts and community centres as well as the acquisition and planning of parkland.  We have an exciting vision for this great region and we'd like you to be part of this.
As Manager Community and Cultural Policy, you will be responsible for leading the development of regional and local policy and for guiding and managing a large team of policy and planning experts. You will ensure that the Unit both informs and is responsive to the needs of stakeholders, within Council and the community.
To be successful in this position it is essential that you have strong and proven experience managing a large team, preferably in a political or highly complex organisation. You will combine this with your experience developing integrated strategy and policy to manage complex issues, at a senior level. A tertiary qualification in planning, social policy or a related field is essential. The ability to organise, maintain relationships and build a highly effective team will be key for you to succeed in this role.

呵呵,虽然我也不喜欢那種成天將什麼policy掛在嘴上的人,但貌似这种通常都很NB,为人处事都是高手!

這種職位council有大量 就算中央政府部門那些各種policy analysts 基本上也是做差不多的工作

政策分析是必須的 政府裡面也要有人文和社會科學出身的 難道社會政策也要工程師來做? （雖然很多人也說你council除了library和游泳池公園 搞搞events 外 甚至連房屋規劃也管不了 真正社會政策基本上都是中央政府的事情 地方政府還能有什麼社會政策？！）不是冒犯啦 不過國內由工程師治國情況是怎樣大家都有目共睹....  呵呵

反而很多時是議而不決 決而不行 整天開口水會 workshop 然後將那些policies 呀 strategies 呀 說的空洞無物 印得美美的卻不知道如何落實 最後都是放在書櫃就算 然後大家自我感覺良好 卻什麼也沒有改變 然後過幾年這些政策又review再review..... -  這才是新西蘭甚至西方政府部門的通病

政府裡面很多工作 如IT/財務/工程什麼的裡面很多中國人 但做LZ說的這類工作首先在專業方面很多華人就不對口 （在國外很少華人/亞洲人會讀人文和社會科學 - 所以這方面我覺得薄瓜瓜是挺牛逼的 呵呵）然後做這些還要很會說（扯） 很會寫 甚至要有政治敏感度 - 這些也是新移民甚至一般華人的弱項.....

20萬的等級。。。。一般中型公司的CEO?? 做技術的大部份16-18萬最高了吧。。。

刚去council网站看了下，暂时没有合适的工作，都要5年以上的工作经验。。。

一般應該是80%-120%。所有職位都是這麼分。這個職位是L等。。。

IT staff in Council/CCOs are also very well paid too....(thou not as much as this one as it is the MANAGER'S position)...

Totally, perhaps with less stress too... Did a few projects with WCC... jeezzz 4:30pm I was there in the office ALONE... sigh...

Of course no stress.... you dont have to make a PROFIT for the boss/owner of the company!

我昨天做滿８小時的班我都渾身不對勁，感覺被人占了便宜，心理非常不舒服。

哈哈哈，的确是。在IT firm相信很多人都有fill timesheet的习惯。。。 chargeable hours就等于profit。。。

既然人在这边就懒得讨论国内了，反正去的起天上人间的不是我，无所谓兴衰，不过这份工作真的不容易干，，虽然那些所谓的精英们有点自以为是甚至自视太高，但社会就是需要这样的人去办事

AT 好像好些吧 呵呵 畢竟都是比較幹實活的 工程類工種比較多 至少阿三做領導的好像就已經不少......
