Today I was accompanied my dad, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, to the Eye Clinic at the Building 8 of Greenland Hospital for an eye test. After two eye specialists did some checks to my dad's eyes. We were heading to the third specialist. Her dressing showed she should be origin from the middle east and she was wearing a recognizable burqa.
During my dad was being examined by the third specialist, I was sitting behind my dad. I have an asthma and I forgot to bring my puff. As I cleared my throat, the female specialist ordered me to leave the room, said I had a flu and I will make her sick.
I left the room after some arguments with that female specialist and I returned to the waiting room. I was quite angry, upset and worried that the female specialist would call the security so I tried to clam myself down. Then I realized that there are at least 4 to 5 people in the waiting room coughed far more worst that me. If the female specialist was so worried about getting the flu virus, these 4 to 5 people should leave the hospital too. If one of those coughing patient had an eye test, he / she would still passed the flu virus to the specialists in the building who do the eye test. I felt I got pick on unfairly.
Should Greenland hospital provide flu vaccine to their staffs so that they don't have to be so much worries and over act when someone clearing his throat? (I had flu vaccination a month ago) Should the hospital shows signs or stated in the invitation letter that those who have cold are not welcome to be in the hospital?
When my dad came out from the examination, the female specialist did say sorry to what had happened. However, I still unhappy by her over reaction.
I am looking forward to the reply from your department.
