The method you suggested is only effective against computers that have key logger on. If your browser is hijacked, no matter what order you put the password in, the malware should still in theory be able to read your password.
Some of the possible ways to mitigate against password stealing malware include:
- use different password for different website/logins
- use a password manager such as keepass which is capable of scrambling password and claim to be capable of blocking other software from reading into a particular memory space
