Solutions Architect - 2 positions
Are you an experienced Solutions Architect? Do you enjoy designing and implementing solutions? Do you have the drive and motivation to be a successful Solutions Architect? If so you could be just who we are looking for!
We are looking for a Solutions Architecture to join Auckland Council and be a part of a great team. This is an excellent opportunity and there is plenty of work to get in involved in and show us your experience.
The key purpose of this position is the Solution Architect ensures IS systems are designed to meet business objectives and are in line with Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards and policies. You will also ensure solutions are implemented and supported within agreed parameters. This includes developing an overall vision of the projected solution, and transforming that vision through execution into a solution.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:

At least 5 years proven IT experience working in large complex organisations in senior IS architecture roles and an excellent infrastructure/network technical knowledge
In-depth experience in:
Business and technical analysis and design
Designing and implementing enterprise scale infrastructure and systems
Experience in the broad use of computing facilities from software development to security design
Led multiple large projects through the solution development process
Use of Architecture tools and repositories
Strong experience with Microsoft Server technologies including AD, DNS, MS SQL, Sharepoint and Operating systems.
Knowledge of application security architecture and implementation experience in SOA and Web 2.0 environment
Experience developing complex multi-dimensional enterprise architectures.
Extensive hands-on experience with the entire software development lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing).
Tertiary qualification
TOGAF certification (advantageous)

I always use http://www.learndevnow.com
It has the best SharePointcourse online.However for beginners , the hard thing is to build a environment to play with.It require very high hard-ware spec.

If you can get your manager to pay for this , that's definitely will help.But SharePoint requires a deep learning curve , you can not learn it by just attending a course(same for all IT stuff).

Yes , and there are loads of free training as well.
And the next version of SharePoint should be out sometime next year.
