TheSPACE Programme has two ‘Topics’ Units and one ‘Introduction to Play’Unit. Each unit runs for approximately10-12 weeks. The discussion topicscovered vary according to group interests or needs, and availability of guestspeakers.
Thediscussion topics covered may include:

· Becoming a parent | · A sense of me and others |
· Understanding me | · On the move |
· Music | · Heuristic Play |
· See me move | · The Beauty of the Brain |
· Establishing Attachment | · Uniquely You – Understanding Temperament |
· What do I see | · Going back to work |
· What do I hear | · Meaningful men |
· Making Resources | · 21st Century ‘Super Kid’ |
Unit3 is an Introduction to Early Childhood areas of play.
Atypical SPACE Session runs for up to 2 ½ hours, and includes:
· A Welcoming and Settling in time
· A thought for the session
· A sharing moment
· Music & Rhymes
· A Discussion Topic (or Guest Speaker)
· Morning or Afternoon Tea
· Packing Up
Inweek two of the programme, the group will discuss and develop guidelines forthe sessions. For example, this mightcover always looking after your baby’s needs first on session, phoning if youare going to be absent, and the group providing feedback for facilitators onhow they are finding the programme.
