I am very disappointed about Air NZ decision to cancel the direct flights to BJ. I understand the position that AirNZ is trying to increase its flights to Shanghai. Shanghai is perceived to be the most important transit point in China by AirNZ. I do not know how the decision is made. It certainly causes incontinence to many customers like me. Currently AirNZ is travelling Beijing twice a week. From my travelling experience, the flights are very full.
Indirect flights will create much EXTRA trouble for passengers particularly who travel with young children and for passengers who are not good at English or not travel often. It would create extra distress for them during the transfer and certainly slow down their travelling. AirNZ may argue that passengers who cannot speak English can transfer via Shanghai. However, if they fly domestic flights, they need to pick up their luggage and recheck, which is highly incontinent. The decision is made without any consultation to customers and stakeholders, which shows that AirNZ does not take about customers’ interests. There are numbers of passengers who have ALREADY bought DIRECT flight tickets to/return Beijing after 1 July, for example my family. This is a breach of contract from AirNZ side as it does not deliver the service that is agreed when customers bought their tickets. This change will definitely damage customers’ loyalty towards AirNZ.
I think the change is a backward decision made by AirNZ. Beijing, as the capital of China, is a very important international airport in the north part of China. For many travellers, Beijing is the transit point for them to go to Europe or other international destinations. Beijing is also an attractive tourism location with her rich historical attractions such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Furthermore, with more competition in the industry, AirNZ will lose some of their customers. For example, if I have to transfer flight to Beijing, I will not choose to fly AirNZ. I can fly Air Singapore, China Southern, Air Malaysia, Cathy Pacific or Air Korean etc. To be more competitive in the global market and for LONG TERM INTERESTS, Beijing is a destination AirNZ should fly DIRECTLY.

商業就是商業，航空公司沒有錢掙，肯定要取消航班。不可能為了少數幾個乘客開通航線，做“雷鋒”航班。

不要說nz了，澳洲那麼大一個國家，都沒有飛去北京的直航。qantas再09年就取消了。
如果有前景，air china 早就開通了，都不用等你air nz。

谁说澳洲没有直飞北京的，国航就有，虽说国航不太好吧但也是直飞啊

ok, ca的直航由744 變成了333／2,可見入座率也不高，而且每週2班。雖然是直航，你坐嗎？

我想LZ的失望是因为AIRNZ卖了票现在又突然要让客人转机。但是卖票的时候为什么不先知会客人？　现在说改就改，最受罪的是老人和带孩子的父母，从北京再转上海，直接到PUDONG的只有早上８点从北京飞的，其余的只能到虹桥再坐车到PUDONG。在北京和附近的还好，那些需要从自己的城市再到北京的人怎么办？　
如果在北京住宿一夜，AIRNZ　是不是应该支付？
相信大多数人买AIRNZ到北京是因为他直航，那AIRNZ　是不是有故意MISLEADING　的嫌疑？

航空公司在t&c里寫的很清楚，航空公司俱有caxxx的權利，航空公司不能保證乘客抵達目的地on time.

哎，以后又要转机了。。太无奈了。
另外，楼上的，刚说澳洲没直航北京，人家说有直航，你又说飞机哪哪不好。

飞北京要多飞几个小时，油钱贵啊，票价没优势了。

而且现在nz移民局好像也把很多地方的签证（日本香港菲律宾）转交给上海领事馆处理了。
