Do you guys have south african colleagues? Why kiwis are screaming "nooooooooo" when they heard that our company was going to hire a south african lady?

有过SA boy，也是会计。比我早进公司2个月，就跟我说要dating，靠，被我顶回去了。

他离职前还吊了个中国mm，人家从Wellington搬下来，但是搬下来不久SA就辞职回国了。他在SA还有个女儿。。。。。

经常在这里听到中国人抱怨如何如何在新西兰受歧视，感觉有很多中国人也是种族主义啊！南非人又什么不好？我有些朋友就是南非的，他们很好啊！请不要把自己的水准降的这么低，否则你才是真正的种族主义！！

其实被歧视的主要原因是你的行为并不是因为你来自哪里或你是哪里人。大多数黑人中国人印度人被歧视是因为大多数的人表现都不够好。

我也是南非人。。。南非人很少有种族主义的。

no offence, I just want to know what's the "feature" or "lable" of SA white ppl in NZ, which is a significant large ethical group here.

You misundstood something -- It's our office ladies or you can say kiwis who lable SA ppl. Yes you are right, ppl should not lable others, and that's fine if you wanna be so seriuos. I was just about tof gossip only.

not EVERY one's arrogant, PLS do not put label on ppl. When I was back in South Africa, local black, white are all very easy to get along with local Chinese community, very open for things, culture, food and etc.
If you have limited knowledge and had a bad experience with ONE South African, that doesn't make ALL South African to be identical to be the one you've meet.

Anyway, they will not say that in front of me. They might say while I was away. There is something I can't control, you can't control, every can't control. I said, no offence.

I understand your point... it means that your colleague is very narrow minded. A person like that is mostly likely to be NOT a team player.

When I was recruiting for my company, a spring brother came in for an interview. And my boss say.... OH, how can we hire a lesbian..... I've just simply replied to my boss, as long as she can get the work done, who cares... besides... spring brother is a religion in China, where many ppl preys her and say.... Believe spring brother, and get eternity .
And she's been working for 3 years now... very hard working web front-end designer.

Take it easy bro. Tell you something, the kiwi girl who had the loudest "NO" yesterday, was chatting with the new coming SA lady warmly at lunch time today, about food or something. Nobody identifies and treats ppl by the "lables" SO SERIOUSLY.

BTW, they used to say how bad Aussies are, in front of the Aussie General Manger. Sometime the Aussie General Manager joint the chatting and agreed what they said. Ppl just like gossip.

我们公司有一个，不过他是南非的白人，我觉得他人挺好的，有点口音，但是绝对听得懂的口音，因为英语也是他母语。

oh, do not take my comments negatively...i just came corss SA ppl like that at my work, so did my husband. not everyone arrogant, small minded. some of them are fine but just watch out a few of them do behave very oddly...It's like every race. some chinese can come cross just as pain as SA.

I understand your point...I do believe we shouldn't label anyone...it doesn't matter what race she/he belongs to or where she/he is coming from...Modern society has changed so much and there so many different cultures mixing together...it's hard to say which one is better or worse...we are all equal...it may not be the case on the superficail level...but deep down, we are all the same...black, white, asians, europeans....

我遇到过两个，人超好。
To LZ: I guess maybe there used to a southern african guy in your departmet and he didn't make a very good impression on your colleagues. Although you can't just catergorize race or people according to your personal experience with an individual from the race, I guess it's just the natural reaction from your colleagues.

Actually not. We had a fiji indian lady before and me, a chinese. All the rests are NZ borned kiwi. Girls' reactions should be from their personal experiences or knowledge. I don't think it's good but I'm ONLY interested in the reasons for that, coz in my eyes, they are all the same if they don't speak.
