1. In a big sea, the lower your hand is positioned on the throttle lever, the more control you will have.
2. If your trailer does not have guide poles, consider having them fitted. It takes a lot of the stress out of the boat ramp rountine.
3. When launching and retrieving your trailerboat off a beach, always angle the car relative to the trailer so you are pulling the far wheel out of the sand first. It will help prevent you getting stuck.
4. Use the rev counter and speedo to optimise outboard/sternleg trim.
5. It is always wiser to quarter a big sea rather than pound directly into it unless the crests are actually breaking. It might take a little longer zig-zagging home, but it is more comfortable for your crew than the direct route.
