我住的酒店，只要迟交一个星期房租就多罚三十，上次我忘了交停车费罚了我二百，这样是合法的吗？该怎么应对？

Did you sign any document when you moved into the hotel? did you read their terms and conditions on the contract you've signed? if they didn't publish those info anywhere, did they verbally adivse you those terms at the time you moved in? if not and you think those penalties are unfair, then you can submit a complain to Ministry of Consumer Affair:

您好，一般来说在消费者来说，罚款和利息是不一样的。

如果因为您的责任造成对方的费用，就是我们所说的interest, collection cost, administration cost, 对方有权利收取。

而fine 和penalty 取决于是否合理。如果远远高出对方的实际成本，那么这类的罚款是不合理的。
