just realize that i do not have much leave at all.
My parents are coming. what shall i do?

talk nicely to your boss, maybe he/she will let you off for a few days....you wil have to take leave anyways in future.

unpaid leave is better than "sick" leave. heard that NZ law allows employee to take at most a 2-yr long unpaid leave.

one of my colleagues asked for unpaid leave for three months. it was declined by my boss' boss.
